4 day Annual National Yoga Convention with Raya Uma Datta

Raya Uma Datta has attended the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India since the age of 10. At the age of 20, he began teaching classes for children at the Institute.
In 1998 he was part of an asana demonstration for the celebration of Guruji’s eightieths birthday. After that demonstration Guruji took Raya as his student to practice and learn with him directly. Since 2002 he is one of the teachers of the General Classes at R.I.M.Y.I. and is assisting the therapeutical classes. He accompanied Guruji in Russia in 2009 and China in 2011. He was part of Geetaji’s entourage for the Convention in Australia in 2009 and South Africa in 2011. He has given seminars and conventions in Israel, Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brasil, Chile and Argentina. He studied philosophy (BA - MA in Philosophy). Passionate about photography, he was part of the team that made the photo calendar for Guruji’s 93rd birthday. At other times, he indulges in long distance riding on his motorcycle!
